This is Not a Drill: Our Redesigned Website Has Launched

5 Minute Read

Over the past three years, we’ve spent a lot of time behind the scenes to bolster our services and redefine our visions for Allied. We wanted to offer more for the innovators that trust us. Now that we’ve expanded our shop and services, we thought it was time for our website to reflect the improvements we’ve made.

Why did Allied Metal Ltd redesign its website?

We redesigned the website for many reasons: to break down the services we offer, to build a surplus of foundational knowledge for everyone interested in sheet metal fabrication, and to make it easier to get to know us as a company and a team.

Let’s take a tour of the biggest changes together.

The decision to redesign our website was made after sitting down with our team and evaluating what our website provided to visitors versus what they wanted out of it. We’ve tossed the old, cluttered design in the trash and replaced it with a website that has clear digestible visuals. We’ve also added clear navigation, educational content, and sections that will allow visitors to get to know us on a more personal level.

All new site navigation

User-friendly navigation was key to our redesign. No one wants to click through page after page and still not see what they’re looking for anywhere. With that in mind, we revamped our sitemap (which includes all-new categories) and added a “GET A QUOTE” button to the menu so anyone ready for help can get it quickly.

All our primary fabrication services are on our redesigned site since we’ve added more capabilities over the years. Did you know in 2018 we added powder coating to our roster? We’ve devoted an entire bay to Allied’s quality powder coating services which include a steam-generated wash bay, Wagner box-feed and Hopper-feed spraying systems, and curing oven. The upgraded menu ensures you’ll be able to find the exact service you want, fast.

Educational pillars for sheet metal fabrication

This is probably our favourite part about the new website (aside from that killer video on the home page). We have three pillars in our menu designed to give anyone new to metalworking the base knowledge to start them off right. These expand on our services, machine specifications, and popular materials.

Materials

In this section of our site you can view the main material types we use in our shop. There’s also a section on the Materials page that compares the different alloys against one another on key factors for a high-level view that will help visitors get an idea of what might work best for their project at a quick glance. The individual material pages provide more detail about how they’re used in different industries and the most common grades used.

Fabrication Services

The Fabrication Services page offers a preview of all the services we provide, as well as letting newcomers know which fabrication process(s) their project falls under (cutting, forming, assembling, and finishing).

Two significant things the service pages do is teach you about what goes into each manufacturing operation, as well as provide our machine specifications so engineers can quickly see what tolerances we work within.

Company

We wanted to showcase our company values and our team in a new way. In addition to the specifics our Home page lays out, we have a dedicated Company page on the redesigned website. This page shares what we’re all about, our mission and vision, and directs you to our History and Team pages where you can learn about where we started and get to know our rockstar team on a more personal level.

What hasn't changed at Allied?

The foundation that we’ve built our customers’ trust and reputation on hasn’t changed, and will always remain a constant for Allied. We’ve infused our values and the same quality of work into every aspect of this redesign, and are proud of the strides we’ve taken as a business over the last fifty years, and are excited that our online platforms are now aligned with that.

What's still in store?

A lot more is in store for the future, including some downloadable content to save for your projects, blog posts, industry features, and more. We’ll let you in on a little secret, all new certified electrical enclosures are now available, so stay tuned to hear all the details.

Is there something you’re looking for but can’t find? Leave a suggestion in the comments and we’ll see if we can make it happen.
